As the winner of Stamford & Rutland Pub of the year 2008,  the winner of the Batemans Rewarding Success 2008 Best Pub website and Runner up in the Batemans Rewarding Success 2008 Beautiful Beer Competition, The Hit or Miss is a friendly village local pub on the edge of Stamford. The town boasts many pubs and restaurants, but none offer you the good old traditional English pub experience that is on offer at the Hit or Miss. The Cask Conditioned Ales are from Batemans, as well as regular Guests and are accepted as some of the best kept beers in town. The pub has all the traditional games including, Dominos, Darts, Crib, Devil Amongst The Tailors and Stamford's own Push Penny. The pub is also fast becoming the first choice in town for live music and has been host to many of the areas best live acts.

The Jolly Brewer was described by CAMRA as "the latest jewel in the crown of the beer Mecca known as Stamford" when they presented us with a Gold Award. You will find one of the best selections of real ales in this area on your welcome in to the pub. With the Oakham Ales brewery practically on our doorstep, you will always be able to find an excellent pint of JHB on offer, along with Sharp's Doom Bar, two rotating guest ales and Weston's old Rosie.
